Cam and top end noise are a feature of these bikes and normally it's not to much to worry about.

Be worth checking the timing though

If you check the wiring diagram you may be able to workout what's needed or not. There will a bit more for electronic ignition bikes.

Ahh, the 200sx.  My mate had one of those in our scooter days, he loved it when it ran hated it when it didn't. I used to have a vespa px125 wicked to ride, unstable as a box of frogs

I have to agre with rhos, it's a pain in the arse how motorcyclist get persecuted more that car drivers, lets face it a 17 year old with with a fat loanfrom daddy could,in theory by a 200BHP car and be blatting thru a 30 limit ,on his mobile, with his music making everyone else's ears bleed, half stoned.

We should all be persecuted the same, this is a democracy after all.

Misc / Open / Where have all the Nodders Gone???
« on: August 17, 2009, 08:36:56 AM »
Do you nod to other bikers?

I've been biking for 20+ years and I've always nodded on coming motorcyclists whether they are big bike or little 50cc scooters, I don't expect a nod back but it's nice.

Yesterday I did 120 miles a big round trip via Cleethorpes and Hull, I must have see 100+ bikes of various sizes and I can say that less that 10 returned a Nod.

I got to thinking, the Returning nodders were all Bikes that were either Classic or at least 80's early 90's, the GPZeds and GS types and Biker that were clearly all weather riders / commuters.

So are the others the summer only riders, you know the sort, 40 something, sunny day only, colour coordinated leathers, matching pillion dolly, average annual mileage 200 miles between May and September?

I use their "Japanese Bullet" connectors - replaced most of them on my CB750, remember to get the insulating covers too.

CB500/550 / Re: front wheel hub retainer removal
« on: July 15, 2009, 08:41:19 PM »
I had some extreamly sharpe but small  headed chisles, I could not get the retainer to budge, so was forced to collapse the ring by chopping inward, the retainer is quite soft, the bearing had already colllasped and the seal was removed, just as matt says it goes heart shaped and will pull out

This is just a much a pain on the 750, I've always chopped them out

Got this carb problem mostly sorted now, except if i blip the trottle if doesn't come back down, it must be air gewtting in but where from?

I've stripped and cleaned the carbs a dozen time or more now, so i'm convinced there are ok.

Any ideas???
