Wished mine had one of these...

Yesterday I spotted a Honda 125, first licensed in 1977. To give you an idea which model, here's a very nice vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPGItfHpdss That vid actually helped me realise the chaincase on the bike in my pics was not some aftermarket product, but must have been genuine Honda. Now the looks of such a case is not very nice, yet I'd wished I had one on mine. Adjusting the drive chain is far less frequent and your chain will easily do a ton. Back then there was a Becker Fettkasten available. MZ bikes have a chain case and it is quite elegant. Why haven't we made Honda decide to offer such a case, at least as an option?

Nurse Julie:
John Wembley has a similar enclosed chain case on his 500 K1, a Peter Furlong chain case if I remember correctly.

That’s a CG125. My sister had one in the 70s

RY125-7 is presumably one of the Brazil/China copies.

And right you are, Steve. The design of the gauges (square) I have seen on other models made in Brasil. The sidepanel also says CDI. Smart little bike, probably assembled in 1976 0r 1977.

I think the Rockers of the late 50s and early 60s plus my generation of similar era school kids are responsible for the death of the full chaincase.  They pulled the chaincases off the motorbikes to build their cafe racers and we followed the fashion and pulled the chaincases off our push bikes.  From then on no manufacturer of motorbikes or pushbikes dare put ugly chaincases on their products.  Yes they keep your chain good and the back wheel clean but having to look at their ugliness ever day is too high a cost to pay.🫣🫣🫣😳😳😢😢😂.
