Intrigued by the Kettering name / person. He also invented the electric self starter! And much else.

Very interesting link - he certainly used his knowledge in many areas - even Incubators!

Cheers .. I think I would need to mount it on a small PCB. I do have a few PCBs that may do the job that I mounted shock sensors on for another job.
Out of interest: wouldn't high frequency/micro vibrations be an issue?
Like de-laminating the tracks from the GFK, cracking the soldering spots or component internals?

PCB would be inside the can of the old OEM condenser and filled with hard epoxy resin. I am more concerned about the David Silver ignition being mounted where it is at the end of the crank and also some of the parts look dubious .. like the electrolytic condensers and only rudimentary moisture protection by spraying with some sort of lacquer, rather than total encapsulation.

Acknowledged... giving a nice concealed, OEM looking design  8)
(on the Sony car stereo aboard my ST1100 I've fixed every single protruding component on that PCB with hot-glue... works since '99... my prototypes disintegrated though...)

Also my concerns when looking on those ign plates...
