K4 (US model) Fuses
« on: August 03, 2024, 03:47:38 PM »
I was working in the headlamp and accidentally fused the headlamp fuse. However in the fusebox it had blown the 5amp fuse which was correctly fitted where the 5amp is indicated on the box. The 7amp fuse isn’t blown. But neither the headlight or the tail light works and are therefore both being fed via the one 5amp fuse, which does’t seem correct. My understanding is that the 7 amp fuse is for the headlight and the 5amp one is for the tail light? If i just replace the 5amp fuse and leave the 7amp clips empty the headlight and tail light both work. Am I missing something or is there a problem?

Sorry, maybe I didn’t make myself clear. There are 3 fuses. 15A, 7A and 5A. The fuse that blew was the 5A which meant my headlight and tail light doesn’t work. I though the 7A was for the headlight and the 5A for tail light. But the headlight won’t work unless I put the 5A fuse in.

Yes, it has the lights on/off on the right hand handlebar switch.

I am not that well up on the 750 variations but i know some have confusing link wires that connect different colours, you will need to closely compare your wiring to a correct model diagram

All done. There were two wires that were connected the wrong way round.
