main stand in the way of exhaust bracket.

I ordered a new exhaust hanger bracket from DSS as it didn't have one. When fitting it to the brituro OEM style silencer the main stand seems to get in the way.

Am I fitting it wrong? The silencer connection for the bracket seems to be too long as seen in the pictures.

Nevermind, I had no idea there was a main stand bump stop. I've found some rubber that will work for the time being, I'll also have to refit the collector box and downpipes.

When you are refitting it all, assemble everything very loosely - I found it much easier this way....

And be very, very patient with it. As Matt says assemble everything loosely and only tighten up in stages as they are prone to move around a bit and require 'tweaking' (or Twerking depending if you've had a drink or two and the music is on :))).

If you look out for rubber engine mounts for some tractors and or forklifts, they use a very hard wearing plastic bonded to a metal plate about 2mm thick. The rubber is easy to cut with a jack saw to shape as you want but is a fab substitute for stand bump stops.

I got one from a pal which was about 3” long and really dense material. Carved it up to suit, dressed it up and sprayed it black. You can file it, cut it and it’s oil and heat resistant.
Fork lift ones are harder generally so the preferred choice if you’re having to make one. About a fiver usually.

Is the material Delrin Roo?  It's like a tough nylon stuff but maybe what the OP should look for

I really wouldn’t know Dom, it worked a bloody charm tbh. But yeah, like a rubberised nylon type stuff.

It was either a bump stop for the sliding decks on the forklift raising bed or gearbox mounts, one or the other it was the fact it was dirt cheap and being a consumable, predrilled thing it was a cost effective easy mod.
