Sourcing CBX250 RSE downpipes and silencers
« on: June 14, 2024, 01:16:17 PM »
Hi Folks,
It's time I got on with this unloved 250 RSE (only the A is missing). I've had it some years and it's relatively unmolested apart from a 2 into 1 system.  Quite a rare machine - DOHC, one pot, 2 carbs!  Anyone able to point me in the direction of rocking horse dung?  AKA pipes and silencers.
It will soon be tax exempt (unless the new gov knock that on the head) so ought to be allowed to live to fight another day.

This is a pic of what they look like - mines a red one!

It’s a bit of a long shot Ian but are the pipes on the CBX the same as those on the sohc RS? The silencers appear very similar and they appear to be a one piece item with the header pipes as was the RS.

When I restored my RS I bought a complete set of headers and silencers (they were two piece) from the Classic Bike Shop in Redditch and they look identical to the originals. I think they were made by Brituro, maybe worth a try they are very helpful people.

Good to see the love for the single pot RSA, RSD and RSE is going strong, very underated bikes imo.

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for the info, I have fired them an email with that pic so will see what they think and if they have anything suitable,
Ian
